Wearing reusable bags is one of the easiest ways to reduce waste and live a more environmentally-friendly life. Why not go further and make your own reusable bags? By using old t-shirts that you no longer wear, not only will you minimise the amount of textiles going to the landfill, but you can also reduce the use of plastic bags! Moreover, no sewing is necessary to make this bag – perfect for non-tailors out there. Here’s how you can do it.
Things You’ll Need:
- A t-shirt (the bigger the shirt, the bigger the bag)
- Ruler
- Scissors
Method:
- Cut the sleeves, neckline and bottom seams off the tee.
- Cut 2-3cm wide slits from the bottom of your tee (both the front and the back sides). The longer the slits, the narrower the bag will be.
- Tie the strips into wide knots. Repeat until all the strips are tied.
Easy as 1-2-3!
